Mid-Holocene Peruvian Otolith Oxygen Isotope Data, WDC/Paleoclimatology
Entry ID: NOAA_NGDC_PALEO_OTOLITH

[ Get Data ]

Summary
Abstract: This data set consists of otolith d18o data.
1. Modern Galeichthys peruvianus otolith d18O data 1997-1999 collected
near Huanchaco, Peru.

These data represent analyses of d18O of otolith (fish ear structures)
aragonite through ontogeny with the earliest (youngest) data reported
first.

2. Archaeological Galeichthys peruvianus otolith d18O data
Ostra materials: 6010 - 90 yrs BP stratified radiocarbon date
Siches material: 6450 - 110 yrs BP stratified radiocarbon date
All dates are uncalibrated radiocarbon years.

3. Marine and river water d18O data from northwest Peru 1998-1999.

River samples were taken by hand in flowing fresh water.
Seawater samples were taken just beyond the most distal breaking waves.

4. Trophic level data for finfish excavated from 5 Precotton
Preceramic middens in Peru.
