TOMS Meteor-3 Ground Station Overpass Data V008 (TOMSM3OVP) at GES DISC
Entry ID: TOMSM3OVP_008

Summary
Abstract: The Meteor-3 Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS) version 8 daily ground station overpass data product contains total column ozone, UV aerosol index, Lambertian effective surface reflectivity (Rayleigh corrected), UV aerosol index and sulfur dioxide index values. The overpass data files contain the data derived from the best-matched TOMS field-of-view (FOV) to a site for every day the TOMS instrument was operational. The data are stored in an ASCII format.

TOMS data were produced by the Laboratory for Atmospheres at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (Code 614).

Purpose: This product can be used to compare TOMS with ground station data.

Quality Since TOMS on Meteor-3 was launched in a 212 day precessing polar orbit, the local equator crossing changes with time. Consequently no data were retrieved when the instrument was viewing near the morning or evening terminator. The table below lists the periods when high quality data are available:

08/22/1991 - 09/02/1991
