Sea Surface Temperature (SST) Around Japan from MOS-1/1b VTIREntry ID: NASDA-SST_Lates Version
Abstract: This study have been done as a part of the activities in Japan for 1992
International Space Year(ISY). The object is to develop the algorithm to
create SST dataset using satellite data.
MOS-1/VTIR has the superior function in order to observe the sea near Japan
area simultaneously. The Sea Surface Temperature dataset is processed with
multiple VTIR data which is observed during 10 days period and ... reduced cloud
effect for SST estimation. The dataset contains Sea Surface Temperature of
seasonal change at the sea near Japan and change pattern of Kuroshio current
in a long time since Jun. 1987. SST were analyzed by the processing of
atmospheric correction using Split Window's formula.
Coverage area is about 300 km South/North and East/West each way including
Japan. Resolution is 2.7 km. Total 21 SST datasets have been created since
Jun.1989 and it has been creating in a cycle of once a month or two months.
This datasets can be distributed with free charge by CD-ROM.
