Summary The Geospatial Multi-Agency Coordination Group (Geo-MAC), is an internet-based mapping tool originally designed for fire managers to access online maps of current fire locations in the United States. Using a standard web browser, users can download fire information to pinpoint affected fire areas.
In order to give fire managers and users near real-time ... information, fire perimenter data is updated daily based upon incident intelligence sources, GPS data, and infrared imagery.
The GeoMAC website, using ArcIMS technology, allows users in remote locations to manipulate map information displays, zoom in and out of regions to display fire information at various scales and detail. Users can also download desired information and print hard copies for personal use.
