Service Language
 
Definition

<Service_Language> describes the language used in the preparation, storage, and description of the data or service   It is the language of the information object, not the language used to describe or interact with the metadata record. <Service_Language> does not refer to the language of the metadata. For example, <Service_Language>Spanish</Service_Language>
 
Syntax

<Service_Language> text </Service_Language>

  • Consists of 1 - 80 characters from the printable ASCII character set.
 
Usage
  • The <Service_Language> field is optional and can be repeated if the service is available in more than one language.
  • <Service_Language> may be selected from the Suggested Language Keywords List, which is adapted from the ISO 639 language codes: http://www.loc.gov/standards/iso639-2/php/code_list.php
