Abstract:
There is currently one Automatic Weather Station (AWS)/environmental logging stations located in the Darwin area:
1) In the central valley (S 79º 50.113" E 159º 19.122") between Lake Wilson and Diamond Glacier was installed on November 16 2004. For more information on this AWS please refer to K702_2004_2012_NZ_1.
Others that were operational in the area in the past are:
2) At the foot of the Foggydog Glacier (S 79º 48' 03.9" E 58º 36' 05.4") was installed in January 2007 for a NIWA project, and
3) On the Darwin Glacier (S 79º 53.653' E 158º 41.022') was installed in November 2006 for a University of Canterbury project.

Variables that are measured include air temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, wind speed and direction (3m above the ground) soil temperature and conductivity.
