Abstract:
A sediment trap system (with open area 0.033 square meter) was deployed in the floating ice area of Chuckchi Sea (75N,161W) to determine the Particulate Organic Carbon (POC) and particular flux in summer. For the implementation of this project, a floating ice station was set up for the operation of deployment and recovery. Trap system was deployed at Euphotic zone and at 220m water depth. Euphotic zone depth was calculated based on light quantum data on L1-1000 datalogger and L1-193SA spherical quantum sensor.
