The "ARS Water Database" is a collection of rainfall and runoff
data which have been collected by ARS for research in hydrologic
processes which affect the conservation of natural resources in
Collection Organization: USDA-ARS Hydrology Laboratory.
Collection Methodology: The data contained in the ARS Water
Database are collected from small intensively instrumented
watersheds in ... various geophysical areas in the United States.
Various types of recording equipment are used. Almost all of
the data, however, are variable time-series readings.
Collection Frequency: Collected continuously with variable
Update Characteristics: Since elements are archival, files
are augmented with new data.
The database contains approximately 16,000 station years of data
which includes approximately 10 million individual records as of

Access Instructions: The runoff and rainfall data only are
available as part of the Agricultural Research Service's Water
Water Database info is also available via FTP at
hydrolab.arsusda.gov. Logon as anonymous and use your e-mail
address as a password. The path is /pub/arswater.

general information about the database. The file readme.1st contains
general information about this site and how to navigate through data
for the ARS Water Data Base.
