Abstract:
This database contains meteorological data provided by the mesoscale Weather Information Network Display Systems (WINDS) at Vandenberg AFB and the Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral complex. Meteorological instruments at various levels on towers record a variety of parameters continuously. Towers reach a height of approximately 500 feet. Processors at the sites derive 5 minute statistics from the continuous monitoring of the environment. Elements reported are: Temperature, Dew Point Temperature, Temperature change, Wind Speed and Direction, Precipitation, Pressure, Visibility, Short and Longwave Radiation.
