Summary
Abstract:
This data set includes part of the results of the biological diversity assessment for the Morrocoy National Park Agenda in Venezuela (an integrated study of the Morrocoy National Park system with considerations on the development of plans for its management and sustainable use) over 3 years (2000-2003). The gastropod mollusks were identified by Elizabeth Huck and Patricia Miloslavich , Universidad ... Simón Bolívar (USB), Caracas, Venezuela and confirmed by Dr. Juan Manuel Díaz (formerly from INVEMAR, now at Instituto Humboldt, Colombia). The amphipod crustaceans were identified by Alberto Martín and Yusbelly Díaz (USB) and confirmed by Manuel Ortíz, from Centro de Ivestigaciones Marinas (CIM), Universidad de la Habana, Cuba. Voucher specimens are in Museo de Ciencias Naturales (MCN), USB, Caracas, Venezuela. The classification has been checked against ITIS, CoL and WoRMS and additional literature sources are given whenever the species names were not found (source reference number in the References field, see bellow).
