Summary

Abstract: The Barentsburg survey consists of points, lines and polygons, representing standing and ruined remains of human activities in Barentsburg from the early 20th century - present. The remains were recorded within the framework of the IPY 2007-2009 project LASHIPA. The aim of the Barentsburg survey was to find and document standing structures as well as archaeological remains pertaining to coal mining activities there in the 20th century.
