Abstract:
ABSTRACT: The level 1C IASI data are collocated to points on a 3x3 degree global grid. This product is generated daily and consists of two files, one for ascending orbits and the other for descending orbits.
CURRENTNESS REFERENCE: ground condition
SPATIAL DATA ORGANIZATION INFORMATION Direct Spatial Reference: Point SDTS Point and Vector Object Type: Point Point and Vector Object Count: 7320
Electronic download (FTP) of the data is free. There is a fee for copies of data on physical media. Optical disks are $25.00 per unit and magnetic tape is $100 per unit. Price does not include additional service and handling costs.
Purpose:
PURPOSE: The main goal of the IASI is to provide atmospheric emission spectra to derive temperature and humidity profiles with high vertical resolution and accuracy. Additionally it is used for the determination of trace gases such as ozone, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide and methane, as well as land- and sea surface temperature and emissivity and cloud properties.

Quality
LOGICAL CONSISTENCY REPORT: All the data are processed from level-0 to level-1C at EUMETSAT. Throughout this processing a number of quality checks are performed. For more information on this process please see the following document: Dossier definition des algorithmes, IA-DF-0000-2006 Ed: 4 Rev: 2 Date:01/10/2003 D. Blumstein
COMPLETENESS REPORT: The global grid consists of 61 rows ... by 120 columns which contain -9999 where data are unavailable. Each grid point contains all the values for a single IASI field of regard (each IASI field of regard contains 4 IASI field of view).
