The shapefile used in the contour source diagram on the Amery Region Map published by the Australian Antarctic Data Centre in November 2002 (see link below).
Quality
The contours of the Amery Region Map published by the Australian Antarctic Data Centre in November 2002 were derived from a number of different data sources. This shapefile shows the source of those contours and was prepared for the Contour Source diagram shown on the map. The dataset was generated by converting each line vertex in the Amery Region map contour data (refer to metadata record ... ERS_CONT_MERGED_AMERY) to a point feature tagged with information about the source data set. Each point was then converted into a region using the Arc/Info thiessen command, ie region boundaries were created midway between points. The resulting polygons for each point were then merged together based on the source data field to produce this final data set. The Antarctic coastline was then pasted into the dataset to correctly represent this edge.
