Summary
Abstract:
Dr Eric Woehler and Phillippa Bricher, postgraduate student at the University of Tasmania, and Marty Benavente, Field Training Officer, visited the Frazier Islands on 14 December 2005. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a census of the southern giant petrels on the islands. This metadata record describes GIS data representing the southern giant petrel colonies as observed on this visit.

Quality
GIS data representing southern giant petrel was created using map 12933 from the SCAR Map Catalogue, annotated by Dr Eric Woehler based on his visit to the Frazier Islands, 14 December 2005. Southern giant petrel colonies sketched on the map were digitised after the annotated map was scanned and georeferenced in ArcGIS 10. Eric also indicated on the map the colonies shown that were still current. A scan of the annotated map is included in the zip file linked to this metadata record.
Access Constraints
The data is not publicly available. Please contact the Australian Antarctic Data Centre to request access to the data. The data are a subset of the data linked to this metadata record. This metadata record describes the data with dataset_id = 301. Each feature has a Qinfo value which can be used to access data quality information (see a Related URL).
