Abstract:
Observation of auroral displays at the Italian Antarctica Station Mario Zucchelli located at Terra Nova Bay to investigate the physical processes responsible for magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling and energy relaxation.
Quality
Spectral images are acquired by an electronic All-Sky-Camera system based on a 512x512 high sensitivity CCD and a 16 bit A/D conversion. The optical equipment was specifically developed for auroral observations in terms of optical transparency, resolution and FoV. Images can be corrected for relative transparency of optical system.
Use Constraints
To acknowledge the ENEA/CNR project for Auroral observations at Terra Nova Bay funded and supported by the Italian National Programme for Antarctica Research (PNRA).
Fees:
No cost but data acknowledgement is required.
