Abstract:
ANARE seismic and gravity survey during the period of the IGY (1957-59) inland of Mawson Station, Kemp Land. Ice thickness measurements made on 2 regional traverses. Oversnow tractor vehicles were used to complete the traverse.
For navigation, astro fixes were supplemented by observations of mountain peaks of known position and height.

Quality
ref1 = station, ref2 = method. Seismic reflection stations est. at 32 km intervals (20 mi.)
Reflection times corrected for delays in due to low velocity firn layer. Velocities derived from refraction measurements. Grvaity derived depths from bouger anomalies.
An entry of -9999 in the spreadsheet indicates null data.
Access Constraints
Raw data were stored on 35 mm black and white film. Copied film record; positive or negative (original data). Spreadsheet ice thicknesses (reduced data).
