Abstract:
In the frame of the IV Italian expedition in Antarctica (1988/89) a GPS geodetic network has been established in an area 2000 Km2 wide and close to the Terra Nova Bay station. The network was partially surveyed in 1989/90, while complete survey was performed in the 1990/91 and in 1993/94 campaigns. The network, composed of 12 stations with baselines length of some tens of Km, includes a detail network of 8 stations placed around the cone of the volcano Melbourne for the deformation control analysis.
