CyberShake: Calculating Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Curves Using 3D Seismic Waveform Modeling
Entry ID: CyberShake
Summary
Abstract:
The purpose of the CyberShake Project is to calculate Probabilistic Seismic
Hazard curves for several sites in the Los Angeles area. The hazard curves in this study will be generated using 3D ground motion simulations rather than empirically derived attenuation relationships. An important element of the Project is to develop the computational infrastructure (the cyberinfrastructure) that will enable us to calculate hazard curves for new earthquake rupture forecasts as they are developed.
