Wildfire-Climate Regression Tool
Entry ID: WALTER_WCRT
Summary
Abstract:
The Wildfire-Climate Regression tool allows users to examine the statistical
relationships between antecedent climate and wildfire variability. Regression relationships between wildfire statistics and climate variables were developed for southeast Arizona using data from the period of 1973-2001. Potential Uses: 1. Examine how precipitation, temperature, and drought indices statistically relate to the total area burned and total number of fires across southeast Arizona. 2. Assess how past and current climate conditions might relate to the upcoming wildfire season. [Summary provided by the University of Arizona.]
