Summary
Abstract: The Scatter Plot operation for Giovanni-3 takes two one-dimensional arrays as input. It generates an X-Y scatter plot from these two data arrays, and also calculates and draw linear fit for the scatter plot on the same display image.

NOTE: This scatter plot service is coded in IDL, due to the options and flexibilities of this language in performing linear fit (and other fitting options such as curve fit, line fit, polynomial fit, etc.). and axis labeling flexibility. These capabilities are needed particularly when different fitting methods are needed, or if user-selected axis range options are required.
