Soil Maps of Europe (EuDASM)
Entry ID:
ISRIC_EuDASM_Europe
Summary
Abstract:
The Institute of Environment and Sustainability (JRC-IES) in the European Commission and ISRIC - World Soil Information initiated the European Digital Archive of Soil Maps (EuDASM) in 2004, realizing the urgency to conserve the information on existing soil maps at regional-, national and global scale (see: http://eusoils.jrc.it/esdb_archive/EuDASM/indexes/about.htm).
The 1400+ maps for Europe in this EuDASM collection were scanned from ISRIC's World Data Centre for Soils holdings; maps are presented full scale, with thumbnail pictures and meta-data to permit user-friendly navigation.
