Entry ID:
OUACHITA_SEISMO_EXPT
Summary
Abstract:
The 1986 Ouachita Lithospheric Seismology Experiment consisted of a
200 km seismic profile with 793 recording sites spaced approximately 250 m apart into which 29 shots were fired. The experiment was conducted in three phases or deployments. Deployment 1 consisted of 400 seismic group recorders (SGR) deployed on the northern half of the profile (see report). Strings of 8 hz natural frequency geophones deployed in a single location were attached to the SGRs. Deployment 1A consisted of SGRs occupying the 120 northernmost stations on the line. Deployment 2 consisted of 400 SGR deployed on the southern half of the line. The experiment took place in May, 1986.
