Adopt-a-Shoreline; The Development of Eastern Charlotte Waterways
Adopt-a-Shoreline program, initiated in 2001 for Charlotte County region, has
provided the support for coastal cleanup to evolve from a one-day effort to a
365-day a year commitment. The goal of this program is to have industry members
adopt shorelines and keep ... them clean of debris throughout the year.
Community Lake Education Monitoring Program: Involves community based
monitoring which provides the information required for the community to
understand their lakes.
Cooperative Bacterial Research Program; volunteers and government scientists
measure and track bacteria levels. This information helps all stakeholders to
understand and implement strategies to protect the sensitive harvesting areas.
Softshell Clam Enhancement; investigates the development of transferable clam
enhancement and management techniques for sustaining it.
