Abstract: This southern African subset of the Global Hydrographic data set (GGHYDRO) Release 2.2 is organized into 19 files containing terrain type, stream frequency counts, major drainage basins, main features of the cryosphere surface, and ice/water runoff per year for the entire Earth's surface at a spatial resolution of 1 degree longitude by 1 degree latitude. Quality The image processing was undertaken using the ERDAS Imagine software. The Landsat 7 Images processed are L71128110_11019991227 and L71128111_11119991227.
The image processing was undertaken using the ERDAS Imagine software.
The images were imported into ERDAS Imagine. The orientation parameters were then derived from the Landsat 7 image header ... information to reference the images. The accuracy achieved from the data using the orientation parameters within the header information is +/- 250m#. The projection used for the images was UTM Zone 42 (WGS 84). There was no ground control for the images, so the registration is based entirely on the image header information. Hence, the absolute accuracy is difficult to quantify.
Multi spectral Landsat 7 images have a pixel resolution of 30m while the pan image's resolution is 15m. These images were combined in ERDAS to produce a higher resolution colour image known as a pan sharpened image. To improve the full colour pan sharpened image the following parameters were used in ERDAS Imagine's Resolution Merge application:

Data Type-Unsigned 8 bit
The pan sharpened image's histograms were then edited to reduce the overall contrast and to reveal feature detail in areas of deep shadow.
The resulting images were mosaiced together using the ERDAS Mosaic Image tool. This final image was used for the feature mapping. The pixel resolution of the final image was 15m.
The absolute accuracy of the final image is +/-250m, with a relative accuracy of 15m.
