Zoological Record (ZR) is the world.s oldest continuing database in
the animal sciences. Since ZR.s coverage extends back to 1864, it has long acted as the world.s unofficial register of animal names. Its scope of coverage represents every area of the animal sciences, from biodiversity and the environment to taxonomy and veterinary sciences. While ZR.s 4,500 serials generate a significant portion of the records indexed in the database, ZR contains many other sources of information, including books, reports, and meetings, resulting in: 72,000 indexed records added every year, 1.5 million record archive in electronic formats.
