The location of of tide gauge TG003 was obtained from the intersection of a line through tide gauge markers 5 and 6 and a line through tide gauge markers 7 and 8.
This was done on the advice of Roger Handsworth (AAD). The locations of the tide gauge markers were surveyed by Mark Anderson (refer to metadata record gis35). The location of the new tide gauge was generated from coordinates calculated by Noel Ward from his survey on February 20, 1997. Refer to: 'M.Anderson, MAGIP Field Program Survey Report Summer 1999/2000, Appendix G: Survey notes by Noel Ward' The AAD Mapping Officer has a copy of this report (email:mapping@aad.gov.au).
