Summary
Abstract:
Potassium-Argon and Rubidium-Strontium isotopic ages were determined on igneous rocks from the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands. Paleoenvironments were determined using O18 and C13 stable isotope methods in conjunction with paleontological and sedimentological research. This project has been developed with Dr. Hubert Miller, Dr. Frank Sollner, and Andreas Veit of the Institute fur Allegemeine und Angewandte Geologie, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat Munchen. Isotopic analyses were performed by C. A. Parica in the German laboratories. Statistical processing and geochemical interpretations were performed in the Cathedras of the University of Buenos Aires with the researchers from Germany.
