Measurement of tropospheric aerosols
Entry ID:
007-93_01
Summary
Abstract:
The dataset contains twelve samples (of about five days each) of tropospheric
aerosol less than < 3 micrometer fractionated into five particle diameter ranges (Dp: 2.84, 2.04, 1.4, 0.8, 0.441 micrometer) and a backup filter collecting all particles < 0.41 micrometer, and samples of all precipitation during the sampled period. They were taken at King George Island, Antarctica, from January 29 to March 27, 1995, during the XXXII Chilean Scientific Antarctic Expedition. The sampler was located near the sea at the top of a 60-m high hill. Chemical analysis of the samples includes quantification of the species present in the soluble and insoluble fractions. In the last case, an acid digestion in a microwave furnace was used. Geographic Coverage

Quality
The dataset generated contains samples of the" impactadores of cascade,"of the
high volume sampler and the ozone sampler. These data have been analysed chemically and statistically. The organic species have been quantified according to the obtained results of the organic species in air and water.
